Quick Start

1. Download and install

Download the launcher for your platform from Download, then follow the Installation guide (macOS users: read the xattr section if the .pkg or app is blocked).

2. Sign in with Microsoft

Open Papyrus Client. On first launch, add your Microsoft account under Accounts (same flow as Prism Launcher). You need a valid Java Edition license before you can play.

3. Create an instance

1. Click Add Instance
2. Enter a name
3. Pick a Minecraft version — only versions with a papyrus-shield build are listed (see Introduction)
4. Fabric is selected automatically; other mod loaders are not available
5. Click OK to create the instance

papyrus-shield is copied into the instance mods/ folder automatically when the instance is created.

4. Add mods (optional)

Open the instance → Mods and install Fabric mods from Modrinth, or drop .jar files into the instance mods/ folder. User mods appear in the list; papyrus-shield is bundled with the launcher and installed per instance.

5. Launch

Select your instance and click Launch. The launcher downloads Minecraft and Fabric, then starts the game.

If the server has client integrity enabled and you are missing the mod, you will be disconnected with a link to this documentation.
